We're excited to announce Cliff Mautner as the keynote speaker for the PPO's Annual Winter Convention! This years convention will be held at McMenamins Edgefield and is shaping up to be HUGE! More details and speakers coming soon!
Cliff Mautner’s career in photography spans 28 years. After 15 years and 6000 assignments as a photojournalist with the Philadelphia Inquirer, and working for an eclectic array of commercial clientele ranging from Comcast to Subaru, Cliff launched his wedding photography career. After 750 weddings, he hasn’t looked back.
Cliff was named one of the top ten wedding photographers in the world by American PHOTO magazine. He won the 2009 WPPI Grand Award for photojournalism, and he's the global wedding photography spokesperson for Nikon and Nikkor. He’s been recognized by WPPI as “one of the top photographers and educators in the world” and has shared his concepts and ideas across the country speaking for Nikon, Photoplus, WPPI, PPA, Digital Wedding Forum, and other photographic organizations. He’s perhaps best known for his ability create quality images in some of the most difficult lighting conditions encountered. Rangefinder magazine describes him as having “a freshness and imagination that is new and important” and is the founder of the highly successful "Lighting and Skillset Bootcamp". Latest News PPO's New Executive Manager, Laurie Gift
Back in April of this year at our board workshop some very hard decisions where made. John Alexander who had been serving as interim Executive Director let us know that he really needed to step back and put more effort into his photography business. We have all appreciated the time and effort John has contributed on behalf of PPO.
So the search began for a permanent Exective Director. We had determined that the new director would be key in helping us develop good sound business policy as well as having strong marketing skills. The number one priority is to make PPO a huge benefit and value to our members and we felt we needed a person with much experience to really help us out.
After looking at over 75 resumes and interviewing 7 canditates the board unanimously voted to hire Laurie Gift. Laurie comes with over 9 years of experience as an Executive Director and has the knowlege and temperment to help guide PPO. Laurie has 3 children and lives in the Bethany area. In her first few weeks as the Executive Manager, Laurie has been spending time meeting with the PPO leadership and working hard to build a marketing plan for PPO. She will be implementing that plan in the hopes of building up our membership. You will get a chance to meet Laurie at one of our up-coming funtions in the near future!
